What would make you want to learn a language?

All of the above! It can be as simple as a music artist whose songs I adore, a place that I plan on visiting one day, a friend who speaks that language, etc. I'm also very drawn to "rare" languages because they feel somewhat more "exotic" and are usually more challenging to learn because they are less standardized. I'll pretty much take any excuse to start learning a foreign language.
