Where does bias have the most negative effect?city, neighborhood or globally?
A bias is an inclination of temperament or outlook; especially : a personal and sometimes unreasoned judgment. [a href="http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/bias]" rel="nofollow"http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionar…/a This can have a negative effect when ever it is used negatively to others, no matter where it is. On the other hand though, if you assume that a group of guys down the street may be violent because they look like gang bangers, so instead of walking by and saying "Good afternoon," you decide to take another route...well it's not like you hurt anyone and I don't see a problem with reasonable biases such as that because you retain the knowledge that gang bangers may jump you...and they very well may have. Bias...like anger, can be used negatively or positively, and I think it crosses the line when it negatively affects others unjustly...which happens the most when it is a 'unreasoned judgment.'
